The Goals of the Conference: To review and to examine the published books on Azerbaijan and Aran from ancient times up to the present time.
The subject matters of the conference: - The geographical region of Azerbaijan and Aran - The language and dialects of the two regions - The religions of people (Zoroastrianism, Christianity, Islam, and Shiite) - The tribes of Aran (Talesh, Tat, Lezgi, Avar and …) - The common cultural features of the two regions ( Nowrooz, Chaharshanbe suri, music, the customs and mourning rituals) - The common myths - The historical distortions - Making of theories and cultural identities in Aran intended for separation from Iran (under Tsarist Russia, and the new independent republics of ex Soviet Union (the writing of new histories, ignorance of religion, weakening of Shiism, the gradual elimination of Persian language, the weakening of local dialects ( Taleshi, Tati et …), change of names, words, the names of places…) - The role of Iranian constitutionalism in the changes of Aran - The genealogy of the Azerbaijanis - The Iran o Russian wars and Golestan and Turkamanchay treaties in the study sources of the republic of Azerbaijan - The Caucasian warlords of Iran o Russian wars ( concentrating on Javad Khan Ganjei, Karim Khan Kangarlu, Hossein Khan and Hassan Khan, Iravanian warlords) - The Socio_ political movements of Azerbaijan and Aran - The resemblance of archeological findings on the two sides of Aras River
Abstracts - The abstracts of articles should be prepared in format A4, word 2003, up to 300 hundred key words, and the full name of the author including name, family name, university degree, postal and electronic address, and phone and mobile numbers. - The authors of admitted abstracts will be asked by scientific board of the conference to send their articles. - The abstracts should be sent until 21st Dec. by email to nahad@arums.ac.ir or aran@iichs.org Or the written abstracts and a CD of it should be sent to the secretariat or the scientific board of the conference. The admitted abstracts and articles will be published.
Remarks - The date of the conference will be announced later. - The official language of the conference is Persian; the foreign participants may offer their article in English or Russian. - The enrolment, hotel and the tickets expenses for the authors of the admitted articles will be paid by the organizers.
